63 High St 2.jpg

Our heritage

The building at 63 High Street, Paisley can be dated back to 1897.

Photographs sourced from Renfrewshire Council Archives show how the streetscape at 63 has been in existence since 1897. The first recording of the shop frontages along this area of the High Street was in July 1900. For years the shop was owned by Duncan’s Travel Service, as pictured below in 1957.

Our journey

Renovation Plans for 2022.

This historic location has inspired us to refurbish the shop front back to its original design, using historic photographs to determine what this would have been. All done with the help of Conservation architects SJS Associates, and the support of a Heritage Lottery Grant.

Our plans attempt to respect the history of the building and restore the exterior to its original form with its curved glass, and decorative tiles. And we will even be adding an artisan designed street clock to the outside of the shop as per the 1957 photograph.
