About Us

Nomads’ Coffee opened in June 2021.

Owners Charlotte and Amit Biswas, met in 2015 and quickly fell in love… with coffee!

“We were really lucky to find this amazing cafe right at the beginning of lockdown - it was a massive refurbishment project, needing stripping back and gas, electricity and plumbing installed. When we stripped back the wooden cladding we were really excited to see the brick work underneath and decided to keep it. We love the old features”

Amit is originally from Bangladesh, and Charlotte has lived in Africa and Asia and travelled to many other countries, visiting coffee and tea estates along the way. Farmers face massive challenges in selling their products for a fair price. Mass production and big chains drive down quality and don’t pay much attention to the craft of the local producers, let alone provide a living wage.

Our partnerships with suppliers are crucial in ensuring consistently high quality. We don’t compromise.

Our baristas are trained to high standards and continue their speciality coffee training. We believe there is always more to learn about coffee, and the journey continues.

“Coffee farmers in countries like Colombia or Ethiopia often struggle to feed their families, with profits going to the middle man or big corporate coffee companies.  We wanted to do something that respected the people who grow the coffee and tea”

— Amit Biswas, Co-owner of Nomads’ Coffee
